Cheap Car (Tata Nano) is that a solution?

Cheap car will be marketed in Indonesia next year. With price Rp. 23 million per unit, and the surprise is the car produced by India, which is developing countries same with Indonesia, but they can produce cheap cars with a good quality and meet safety standards. I have not even saw the car directly (just from the photo), but my opinion that car was good in the display. Tata Nano (the car) using the engine 33 horse power, two-cylinder 624 cc (petrol), which paired with the CVT transmission or 5-speed manual. To follow and diesel versions. Four-passenger car requires five liters of petrol for 100 km distance. Yeah i think it is enough for passenger cars with 4 people.

But, with the car is cheaper, more and more people will use private cars to travel, and indeed the other will reduce the number of motorcycles.

As more people use private cars on the road, the road is jammed. If we compare with a motorcycle that needs space about 1x2 m 2 and if the passenger car will be 2-3 times greater, may use the car will be able to reduce congestion if the vehicle 4 people move to 1 this mini-car. So, the motor is reduced and the use of private cars is not too much. But who can ensure that the 4 people who use motorcycles will move to 1 this mini car. May also be a motorcycle driver who will buy a unit of the car and change into a mini car because the price is cheap, and if this thought in mind by all the motorcycle road we will be more traffic jams and traffic jams.

What can the government do to overcome this? I think, it is very wrong if the government allows entry of cheap cars to Indonesia, because the need of transportation Indonesia at this time is the bottleneck problem, the damaged roads, road classification system that distracted and not in accordance with the regulations, road safety and public mass transportation system. Indonesian government should be more able to weigh the investment is good for our development, not home to receive. Our policy in terms of ownership of a motorcycle or private cars can support the increase in private vehicle ownership that ultimately will cause problems later in the day in our streets. Why can not we emulate Singapore which has a policy that private car ownership for citizen is difficult, so that the Singapore government not be with the number of vehicles that have travel on the road.

Therefore, the government should be involved more practitioners who independent in determining the policies that will affect the condition of Indonesia's future. We can not steadily build roads to meet the demand, because the limitation of our funds and also space to build the road is also limited.

But it's just my personal thoughts, thought there might be others that facilitate investment in the cheaper car is one of our transportation problem-solving. Let's see ..
